It's a lovely bit of open space right near the military museums of Winchester. Very enjoyable to sit there in the sun on a winter's afternoon.
Nice open green in the top end of central winchester. Good play area for kids too.
It is great fun because you can do a whole range of activities at any time. There is also a play park to enjoy. The massive field has many people chilling and playing sports in the hot weather.
Great open space at the top of Winchester city centre. Equipped play ground for younger children, and large kick about area for older kids, and an expansive grassy area for anyone else to relax and unwind. Surrounded by interesting architecture and good views.
Large grassy area surrounded by mature trees including a splendid copper beech. Set further back are various types of older houses including the old workhouse ( now converted to flats). There is a footpath leading onto the children's play area through the latter from Clifton Terrace although the spring on the gate limits access to all except those of herculean strength. Notwithstanding that there is easy access from Clifton Road or Clifton Terrace. Overall a lovely spot to while away the time on a sunny day doing whatever pleases you, whether it be reading, dozing or simply meditating on life
