Absolutely brilliant place to spend the day. Definitely worth the entrance price. Some of the food is good value - I've had the soup and a pie before, my boyfriend had sausages which were ok but not worth the 8. The animals are obviously all very happy, I just wish they'd get some new ones on the empty enclosures, but I guess the new tropical house was expensive

This is one of my favourite zoo's to go to, as there are lots of African animals and when I get home sick, this is a reminder of home. The staff at the zoo are friendly and professional animals are well looked after.Best time to go is in summer when all the animals are out to impress. The only reason I have taken a is for the price of the food.

Wonderful wildlife park. Highlights include tropical house, tigers and flamingos. But all the animals in the park are wonderful to see. The park is carefully thought through, well laid out and has some amazing conservation projects. Visiting contributes to this amazing work. Must visit!

This is a lovely zoo. I came here with my wife and kids and we all had a great time. My only gripe is that there arent many animals at the zoo. We visit a zoo or animal park most years, and while Marwell zoo has excellent facilities, we expected a few more animals for the size of the zoo.All of the animals look healthy and well cared for. There are several playgrounds for a range of ages, which our kids loved playing in.Our particular highlight was seeing the tiger up close, it came right up to the glass. There are a few cafes on site which serve a selection of hot food and sandwiches, it is quite expensive (over 15 for 2 sandwiches, 2 packets of crisps and 4 drinks) but we are happy to pay more to support the zoo. You are allowed to bring your own food and drink into the zoo, and there are picnic areas scattered around the grounds. The entire site is wheelchair/pushchair accessible, and there is a tractor train with a pushchair trailer in case you feel like travelling around the park quickly. The zoo has ample parking which is just a short walk to the entrance. We live about 50 minutes away and found it easy to drive to.

Excellent post Christmas day out and has become an annual ritual. Love the new Tropical House, which has been beautifully done and lots of other development work at the park seems to be upcoming. Always lots to see and reasonable prices. Nice to visit and support zoos outside the normal spring/summer months. This is a great time of year to go if you're looking for a day out to break the Christmas boredom. Always highly recommended !!
