DO NOT USE THIS GARAGE!!! Problem after problem with poor customer service - AVOID!! Booked car for MOT in April, failed due to brakes seizing so brakes taken apart and cleaned. Upon collection told the power steering had cut out once whilst moving it (issue never experienced before), drove home where power steering completely cut out, drove straight back w/o power steering. Investigation suggested new alternator needed, garage ordered wrong part, 2 days later told all done and to collect, drove home to find problem worse then before. Took back to garage and complained to owner who agreed they would look into it and have it back to me by end of day if possible as I needed the car. Garage had fitted faulty alternator, took another 3 days to repair. Communication abysmal throughout with no updates provided unless I called. Since have felt brakes not quite right, taken to different garage this morning and told front brake pads had been put on backwards with wire that provides warning if theres a brake fault having been looped and cut to stop it coming on (as couldnt connect due to pads being on wrong sides). Went back to Andrew Fosters to see what they would do and let them know should a staff member need a lesson on brakes, told I could have had free pads if Id taken the car back there, ironic as wouldnt have known the details of the problem if not taken elsewhere. Told them I wouldnt trust them to complete the work properly and in a timely manner, told they would not provide any refund for their terrible work or inconvenience caused. I dont like to do a bad online review but in this case I do not want anyone else to risk a similar experience :(
If you have the misfortune of dealing with Andrew Foster (the garage owner) you will never return to his garage ever again. The guy is blatantly rude and obnoxious, not the type of person you can trust by a long shot.I only went in for a MOT - Which at 54.85 plus a retest fee of 27.50 (slightly above half the original test fee!) - Extremely expensive! That being said I did take it to the only place that could fit it in last minute on a Saturday, certainly paid for it though!!!Tatty reception area, the workshop definitely doesn't look like the photo they use on their Facebook page... Lesson learned (I actually gave him the benefit of the doubt, having heard horror stories about him before - His reputation in the trade certainly fits the person.)The guy in reception was a nice fella, been with him for 18 years apparently... When asked "is your governor always like that?" He just nodded and replied "actually he's calmed down a lot... He used to be worse!" - WOW!
