Guy Powell said he would refuse to provide medical evidence for university unless I forced my parents to drop the complaint they had lodged with CQC and Ombudsman.Guy Powell forced me back onto Olanzapine despite being told by Drs Hansen, Parr, Khan and Roy that I must stop due to long term side effects.The trust's Drs refuse to diagnose Tardive Dyskinesia but I do twitch an awful lot...Apparently I'm going to be arrested for complaining about the abuse I have received from Southern Health.So be it.
The Acute Mental Health Team (AMHT) for West Hampshire, based at Melbury Lodge, are absolutely superb. The team is full of kind, caring and genuine individuals who are truly invested in helping their patients recover. They take the time to listen to you properly and make helpful and astute suggestions. They are very good at adjusting their level of input based on how you are doing, from visiting home every day to seeing a nurse once a week at Melbury Lodge. I saw Dr Carmen Parr and she was brilliant. She listened to me, didn't reduce my experiences (as some healthcare professionals in mental health have previously) and allowed me to make informed decisions for myself. I would also like to particularly thank Jo and Charlie for their help throughout my time under the team. I have made a huge amount of progress under the team and have seen a time of stability in my mental health that I haven't seen in over two years. I certainly wouldn't have been able to do it without the help of the team. The only thing that could perhaps be improved is the timetabling of appointments and organistion - sometimes appointments would be altered or cancelled at short notice but I suppose this is the nature of a 24 hour service with shift work.
My Wife stayed in the Stephen Oliveri unit and I am happy to say that during her stay there she received the upmost care and support. They provide a safe, comfortable and friendly environment and anybody who is anxious about staying here, relax, you will be in great hands. I cannot praise the staff enough and with their efforts she was discharged early. On behalf of my Wife and I, thank you all and keep up the excellent work.
