Fab day out while visiting family over the Christmas holidays. For a Saturday it wasnt busy at all with lots of hands on things for our kids to do. The experiments and interactive displays were all working well and kept the kids engaged. The staff are friendly and happy to answer questions. Super easy to get to with enough parking on the day we went but it could easily fill up quickly. Lots of tables for you to sit and have lunch which on our visit we nice and clean. Overall, a recommended visit.
I absolutely love it here. Such a great night when there are adult evenings and guest speakers. Great little cafe and lots of interactive and interesting exhibits.
Great for the kids. Friendly staff. Reasonable pricing. Panini could have had more filling mind. Planetarium show was great
Well worth visiting with the kids,We swung past the Science centre with our three year old who found the place absolutely fascinating.Admittedly many of the hands on exhibits were aimed at older children, but there were several:-Dig up a dinosaurMake things from recyclingWalk through a model of a digestive system (yes really)Sprint and get timedMake a tornadoTo name but a few which she absolutely loved. We didn't get to visit the planetarium, but will do so when we have our eldest with us too (it's advertised as the biggest in the UK)It was very busy when we visited and we gave up on the queue for the caf, however the centre itself coped with the numbers without a hitch. It's easy to get to being in the outskirts of Winchester and within easy reach of the M3, lots of parking on site (2 for no annual pass holders but you can use credit cards on the machines which is a boon)Other than that? The usual gift shop which you have at least to walk alongside and that rounds it out.
This is a very good place for everyone from young kids discovering the joy of science, to teenagers getting their hands on real life experiments and adults having the feeling of going back to school labs. The planetarium shows are well designed and very informative. There is ample parking (paid). The volunteers and staff are always friendly and cooperative. The cafe is just OK, a bit overpriced but good enough to cater to appetites for a couple of hours.
