Far from effortless. Waiting staff seem scared to ask the kitchen for advice or diet preference. Sounded like only one lady in the kitchen at peak Sunday brunch time- might explain it. Left without eating. Not a relaxed place. A pity.
Lots of intriguing daily specials - the mushroom soup was surreal delicious. Earthy, creamy, vibrant and filling. Highly recommend! Staff lovely and patient.
Cake slice are small - so you might not want to share. Nice venue, service can be a bit hit or miss but the staff are generally friendly and accommodating. A few outside seats in the warmer weather. Toilets are downstairs and are mixed.
Modern Cafe style eating place in central Winchester for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Fairly compact but efficiently run. We were a group of 4 having lunch. Bookings are not offered and apparently 1pm is the busiest time so we arrived at 12 and were seated quickly. The menu is varied and when asked for a gluten free menu we were told anything on the menu could be adapted. Nice lunch menu. They also offer amazing cakes but NONE are gluten free which was a total let down. A main course and tea cost approx 20pp.
Great site and an excellent food choice, but slow service. Been here twice in the last couple of months and on both occasions I've had to chase up my coffee after a 15 minute wait. No apology was forthcoming on either occasion. Plenty of staff and lots of competition in town, so need to try a little harder?
